The government has announced a massive increase in the transfer fee for vehicles in Islamabad, the media reported on Monday.
As per the reports, for the first time, a transfer fee has been imposed on electric vehicles and the increase in the fee effective immediately.
The transfer fee for vehicles up to 1,000 cc has been increased from Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,750. The fee for vehicles from 1,000 to 1,800 cc has been increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,500, while the fee for vehicles larger than 1,800 cc has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 11,000.
For the first time, a transfer fee has been imposed on electric vehicles. The transfer fee for electric vehicles up to 50 kW is Rs 2,500, for electric vehicles from 50 to 100 kW is Rs 5,500, while the transfer fee for electric vehicles above 100 kW is Rs 10,000.
The fee for motorbikes up to 200 cc has been increased from Rs 150 to Rs 550, from 200 to 400 cc to Rs 1000, while the fee for motorbikes above 400 cc has been increased to Rs 1500.
All fees will be deposited in the designated account of the Ministry of Finance.
