The Sindh government has unveiled plans to enhance public transportation in Karachi, promising the introduction of new buses and the launch of electric bus service on two additional routes after Eid.
Addressing the press in Karachi, Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon shared the exciting developments with the city’s residents. He outlined that following Eid, Karachi would see a fleet of new buses operating on various routes, alongside an expansion of the Pink Bus service.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities, Memon acknowledged delays in projects during the caretaker government’s tenure. He emphasized that both PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and President Asif Zardari have prioritized improving the transport infrastructure.
Memon noted the introduction of eco-friendly initiatives, including the deployment of green buses, with additional vehicles already in service and more to follow suit. Furthermore, plans are underway to inaugurate electric bus services on two fresh routes post-Eid.
Expanding beyond Karachi, the provincial minister also announced the extension of People’s Service buses to Mirpurkhas, ensuring improved public transportation accessibility in the province.
