KARACHI: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Saturday met a delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P).
The MQM-P delegation comprising Amin-ul-Haque, Khawaja Izharul Hassan and Kanwar Naveed Jameel discussed the development projects initiated by the federal government in Karachi.
The meeting was also attended by Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza and Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro. PTI leaders Khurram Sher Zaman, Haleem Adil Shaikh, Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Adviser on Maritime Affairs Mr Mahmood Maulvi were also present.
Asad Umar briefed to the leaders of the coalition parties regarding the Karachi Transformation Plan and other development projects of the federal government. They also discussed the financial package and other projects related to cleanliness, transport and water supply in Karachi.
Governor Imran Ismail said that Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan. He said the federal government is taking special measures for the development of the city under the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said that the financial package announced for Karachi is part of the prime minister’s vision. He said everyone has a responsibility in the development of the prosperity of Karachi.
