WASHINGTON: Around the world, the coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 446,135 people and infected over 8,264,399.
According to the latest data, 4,321,495 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far. The death toll in India due to the coronavirus disease soared past the 10,000-mark after Delhi and Maharashtra took into account hundreds of fatalities that were pending review, increasing their total count by 437 and 1,409 respectively.
Moreover, India reported 354,161 cases while 11,921 deaths due to the coronavirus. In the United States, nearly 2,208,400 cases were confirmed, including more than 119,132 deaths.
Brazil now has the second-highest number of recorded infections in the world after the United States with 928,834 cases and 45,456 fatalities.
Over 545,458 people have infected while 7,284 people died of the virus in Russia. The country has the third-highest number of recorded infections in the world.
The United Kingdom has reported 41,969 fatalities and 298,136 infections. Spain has recorded 27,136 fatalities and 291,408 infections.
Italy recorded 34,405 fatalities, while 237,500 infections. Peru has reported 237,156 cases while 7,056 deaths.
Meanwhile, the death toll is 9,065 in Iran as the confirmed number of cases is almost 192,439.
Germany has reported 8,910 deaths and 188,382 infections. Turkey reported 181,298 coronavirus cases and 4,842 fatalities.
France has reported 29,547 deaths, and 157,716 cases. China declared 4,634 deaths and 83,265 cases, with 78,379 recoveries.
In Belgium, 9,663 people succumbed to the disease while reported 60,155 cases due to the coronavirus. Mexico has reported 18,310 deaths and 154,863 cases.
