Global coronavirus cases cross grim 100 million mark

WASHINGTON: The number of coronavirus cases worldwide has exceeded 100 million. The coronavirus, known as the global epidemic, has targeted 100 million people in 435 days.

In the world, more than 72.289 million patients of coronavirus have been cured and more than 25.83 million are undergoing treatment, while the total number of deaths from the virus has reached 2.149 million.

Coronavirus is the worst-hit country in the United States, with 431,392 deaths and more than 258.61 million people affected. India ranks second in the world in terms of coronavirus cases, with 153,624 deaths and more than 1,67,700,000 people diagnosed with the virus.

The total number of deaths from coronavirus in Brazil is 217,712 and more than 88.72 million people are affected. In Russia, more than 3.738 million people have been infected with the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 69,918.

More than 3,669,000 people have been affected in the UK and more than 98,531 deaths have been reported. In France, more than 3,057,000 people have been affected and 73,494 have lost their lives.

More than 2.697 million people were affected and 56,208 died in Spain. In Italy, 2,475,000 people have been affected, while 85,881 people have died. In Turkey, 2,435,247 people have been affected and 25,210 have died.

The first 50 million cases were reported in 356 days while the last 50 million cases have been registered in just ninety days. According to statistics, 10 million cases have been reported twice, in 15 days.

According to statistics, the first case of coronavirus was registered on November 17, 2019, after which the number of cases reached one crore on June 27, 2020.

The number of cases of the coronavirus, which has been declared a global pandemic, rose to 20 million on August 9, while the deadly epidemic brought the number of its patients to 30 million on September 16.
