Famous for his iconic roles in ‘General Hospital’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’, Tyler Christopher has passed away at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest.
The news was confirmed by Christopher’s representative in a statement, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss and the actor’s remarkable qualities.”He was a very gifted actor, and more importantly, an amazing friend. My heart goes out to his friends and family who loved him so much,” he said.
Tyler Christopher was known for his acting talent, which earned him five Daytime Emmy nominations during his career, including two wins.
His contributions to the entertainment industry extended beyond his performances as he openly advocated for better mental health and substance use treatment, courageously sharing his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol.

Tyler Christopher had been married to former ESPN reporter Brienne Pedigo. The couple had two children, Greysun James Christopher and Boheme Christopher. Additionally, Christopher was previously married to “Desperate Housewives” alum Eva Longoria from 2002 to 2004.
Christopher’s journey in the world of soap operas began in 1996 when he portrayed Nikolas Cassadine in “General Hospital: Twist of Fate,” a role that would define his career.
He continued to captivate audiences with his portrayal of Nikolas on the hit ABC series until 2016 and subsequently graced “Days of Our Lives” by playing Stefan DiMera from 2018 to 2019.
His remarkable performances earned him critical acclaim, including his first Daytime Emmy win in 2016 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
