ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ordered the hearing on a daily basis of the foreign funding case against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).
The order was given after the joint opposition’s Rehbar Committee’s filed petition in the ECP, seeking a quick judgment in the case against the PTI.

The chief election commissioner and member Election Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa granted the request.
The ECP, as per sources, has directed the scrutiny committee to wrap up the foreign funding case as early as possible.
The application pointed out that the foreign funding case against the PTI had been pending with the ECP for the past five years, while all relevant documents were available for proceedings.

It stated, “We urge that in the interest of justice the case may be heard on a daily basis and decided at the earliest during the term of the CEC.”
