KARACHI: The investigation into alleged “cocaine queen” Anmol alias Pinki has revealed what officials described as “sensational” details about a Karachi-based drug manufacturing and supply network, with the accused catering to up to 1,000 clients including students and “influential people,” investigative sources said on Thursday.
Sindh Police double standard: Arrest for activist, respect for drug queen?
Born in 1995, the accused lived in Jahangir Road, Abul Hasan Isfahani Road and Defence areas of Karachi and became involved in the drug trade at a young age, sources said. She started selling drugs at 14 to 15 and has been in the “nefarious business” for the past 16 years, according to officials.
Investigation revealed that Anmol alias Pinki was “an expert in manufacturing cocaine and converting it into large quantities through chemicals,” officials said. She would buy cocaine for Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per gram, mix it with various chemicals, and sell it for Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 per gram.
She was capable of increasing 200 to 300 grams of cocaine to one kilogram, investigation sources added. A “cocaine egg” was sold for up to Rs 800,000, according to the investigation.
Authorities said the accused had set up a “regular laboratory” in Karachi to manufacture drugs.
Ketamine, ephedrine, meth and latocaine were among the substances recovered, along with several bottles of “high-quality handmade red wine” and more than 15 “Golden Cap” cocaine eggs during the raid in Garden.
Network and clientele
Sources said Anmol Pinki was operating her network not only from Karachi but also from Lahore. Her customers were concentrated in posh areas of Clifton and Defence in Karachi. To avoid arrest, four special riders — including female riders — were hired to deliver the drugs.
Buyers included students, youth, businessmen and influential people, while drugs worth lakhs of rupees were sold daily, investigators said. The number of people who bought drugs from Anmol is estimated at 800 to 1,000.

Supply chain and marriages
Investigative sources said the accused bought cocaine from foreign residents who smuggled the drugs into Pakistan by hiding them inside their bodies.
According to sources, Anmol was previously married to a Punjab police officer, which ended in divorce. Her ex-husband allegedly assisted her in the business. She later married a man named Ansar, who is based in Malaysia. The accused claims the current drug business belongs to her husband Ansar, sources said.
Authorities said that so far, some three cases have been registered against Anmol alias Pinki in different police stations, including cases of murder and drug trafficking. FIRs have been lodged in Baghdadi, Garden, Darakhshan and Gizri police stations in Karachi, while there is also a case against her brother in Lahore.
Bank accounts, properties, facilitators, and assets purchased in the names of relatives of the accused are also being investigated, sources added.
The revelations come as the Senate Standing Committee on Interior has taken notice of the case and summoned the heads of ANF and FIA. Three investigation committees have been formed in Karachi, while a JIT announced by the Sindh home minister has yet to be notified.
