KARACHI: At least six people were injured after a gas explosion occurred at a house on Friday morning in Soldier Bazaar of Karachi.
According to rescue officials, two women and four children were injured in the incident. The rescue teams reached the site and cleared it while the injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital, Karachi.
The injured have been identified as Nilofer, wife of Imran, aged 22, Shayan, aged 7, Rabia, 6, Amina, 3 and Farwa aged 4. A witness said that the explosion was quite loud. A 40-year-old woman, identified as Ana, reportedly fell from the first floor to the ground floor. Her condition is said to be critical.
In a similar incident on Wednesday, at least three people including two children and a woman died while others received serious injuries when a gas cylinder exploded at LPG shop near Mosmiyat area in Karachi.
According to details, SP Gulshan Iqbal said that the incident took place when the gas cylinder inside a shop exploded with a loud bang killing three people on the spot and injuring several others.
He said the blast also damaged several parked vehicles around. The wounded persons were immediately shifted to hospital.
