The spokesperson of the Foreign Office has stated that former Pakistani Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who was onboard the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying aid for Gaza, is still in the custody of the Israeli forces, as reported by the national media on Sunday.
According to details, in a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, it was said that Pakistan is in contact with international partners for the protection and repatriation of Pakistani citizens onboard the Global Sumud Flotilla.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office stated that through the diplomatic sources of a friendly European country, it has been confirmed that Mushtaq Ahmad is in the custody of the Israeli occupying forces in Palestine; however, sources have informed that Mushtaq Ahmad Khan is safe and sound.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office stated that, according to local legal regulations, former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad will be presented before the court, and after the issuance of deportation orders by the court, his return will be ensured on an immediate basis.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also made possible the return of those individuals who had earlier disembarked, and Pakistan expressed gratitude to the brotherly countries for cooperating in the repatriation of Pakistani citizens, according to the spokesperson.
He stated that the Government of Pakistan is determined for the protection of all its citizens, and it is expected that the process of citizens’ repatriation will be completed within the next few days.
