Former FIA director Dr Rizwan dies from cardiac arrest
LAHORE: Former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director Dr Rizwan has died of cardiac arrest.
Dr Rizwan’s family confirmed that he suffered a heart attack and was immediately rushed to Services Hospital and given medical attention but couldn’t survive. He was suffering from cancer and had recovered from the deadly disease last year.
It is pertinent to mention here that after the new government took charge, Dr Rizwan had sent a request for leave on April 9 from his post as Director FIA Punjab Zone I.
He was heading the investigations against Shehbaz Sharif and his family in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case, Jahangir Khan Tareen in the JDW Sugar Mills case, and the family of former federal minister Khusro Bakhtiar.
Director Mohammad Rizwan had also launched an investigation against money launderers. Deputy Director FIA Nazia Ambreen has taken charge and replaced him. Dr Muhammad Rizwan earlier served in Sindh Police.
