The Pakistani rupee maintained a steady position in the interbank market today, while the open market exhibited a wider spread for major European currencies.

According to the latest data from Forex.pk, the US dollar is trading at 280.00 for buying and 280.50 for selling in the interbank market.

In the open market, the greenback is slightly higher, with a buying rate of 281.10 and a selling rate of 283.10, reflecting a stable premium between the two markets.

Market analysts suggest that the stability of the USD at the 280 mark is a positive sign for importers, though the slight “gap” in the open market for the Euro and Pound indicates continued demand for travel and private remittances.

Traders are keeping a close watch on the State Bank of Pakistan’s upcoming moves as the first week of the new year unfolds.
