ISLAMABAD: The World Bank has approved a loan of $149.7 million for 2 projects in Pakistan to support the country’s economy.
According to a report by Express-News, the Board of Directors of the World Bank has approved financing of $149.7 million for two projects in Pakistan, Digital Economy and Flood Prevention, of which $7 million is for the project to improve the digital economy. An amount of 8 million dollars has been allocated.
The Digital Economy Project will help improve technology and data-driven decision-making and financial systems. Through the project, the government institutions will be digitized, and as a result, the economic performance of the country will improve and coordination and transparency will be promoted.
Out of the $149.7 million allocated by the World Bank, $71.7 million has been earmarked for the improvement project of barrages in Sindh, which aims to ensure flood protection, resilience of the canal system, and severe floods and droughts. Minimize negative effects.
Officials say that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is committed to attracting foreign investment in Pakistan by finding technology-based financing solutions and measures to combat the disasters caused by environmental pollution.
