ISLAMABAD: The spokesperson of Foreign Office Dr. Mohammad Faisal has urged the Organization of Islamic Council (OIC) to play a significant role in the verdict of the Babri Mosque case.
The spokesperson of Foreign Office Dr. Mohammad Faisal said that the Indian Supreme Court’s decision regarding Babri Masjid was illegal.
He said that Pakistan demanded from the OIC to play a significant role in the issue as it was illegal to give the occupation of the disputed holy place to Hindus.
Dr. Faisal said, “The decision of the Indian Supreme Court is unacceptable. It is not fair to substitute a mosque on the basis of religious biases.”

He added, “The Indian Supreme Court ruled on the basis of faith. Hindus killed around 2,000 Muslims while destructing the Babri Mosque.”
The Indian Supreme Court on 9th November, ruled the verdict in the Babri Mosque case that Hindus would get Ayodhya land and Muslims will be allotted an alternate piece of land.
The court ordered that the Muslims would be given five acres of land at an alternative site in Ayodhya, in northern Uttar Pradesh state.
While reading out the verdict, Justice Gogoi said the decision was taken on the basis of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
The Supreme Court bench declared the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992 as a violation of the law. Title over land cannot be decided on the basis of faith and belief, but as per law, the court added.
Hindu extremists destroyed the historic mosque in 1992 triggering massive riots in India. The violence left tens of hundreds of people dead.
For over a century, Hindus and Muslims have been in a tussle over the Babri mosque in Ayodhya in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Hindus claim the mosque was the birthplace of Lord Ram and was built after the destruction of a temple by Muslim invader Babur in 1528.

On the other hand, Muslims say they offered prayers at the mosque until December 1949, when some idols of Lord Ram were placed in the mosque.
