KARACHI: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi would pay visits to Iran and Saudi Arabia on Sunday to discuss the Middle East situation and the regional peace with the respective leadership of both countries.
According to a Foreign Office press release, the foreign minister would embark the visits in both countries on the instruction of Prime Minister Imran Khan, following the recent tension that took place in the region due to the US Iran conflict.
During the visit to Iran Qureshi will meet Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and exchange views on the evolving situation in the Middle East.
On Monday, January 13, he would visit Riyadh to hold a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and consult on the issues of regional peace and immovability.
During these visits, the foreign minister would share Pakistan’s position on the current situation, stress the vital of avoiding any variance and emphasize the importance of defusing the tensions.
Foreign Minister Qureshi would also convey Pakistan’s inclination to hold up all pains that assist the resolution of differences and disputes through political and diplomatic resources.
