The 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which runs from September 7 to 17, will screen several movies across the world.
Let’s have a look at a few movies that are screening at the Toronto International Film Festival:
A Normal Family
A Normal Family is Hur Jin-ho’s adaptation of the bestselling book The Dinner by Dutch writer Herman Koch, which has already been made into Dutch, American, and Italian films.
It’s the story of one well-to-do family whose privilege may not defend them from a troubling situation that involves their children.
While dining at an expensive restaurant family secrets are revealed and the conversation takes an unexpected turn. The film stars Sul Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, Yoon Jin-seo and Park Ji-yeon. It will be screened on September 14 and 15.
Thank You For Coming
The story revolves around five friends in their thirties, set out on a mission to discover genuine love and inner contentment. Directed by Karan Boolani, the film will premiere at TIFF on September 15 and on October 6, 2023, worldwide.
Pain Hustlers
Based on the book by Evan Hughes, Pain Hustlers stars Emily Blunt and Chris Evans.
Evan Hughes’ story is given a catchy, fun, voiceover-laden adaptation courtesy of writer/director David Yates.
Dumb Money
Never has a film title more accurately matched its subject matter than Craig Gillespie’s Dumb Money. Paul Dano and Seth Rogen star in this hilarious tug-of-war comedy examining the infamous GameStop Wall Street scandal.
It was a moment when the unwashed internet masses went up against Wall Street’s highly tailored, ultra-rich brokers and won… for a time, anyway.
This incredible story of grit, determination, and the power of the internet examines a tale that is still somewhat unfolding. More importantly, it seems that Dumb Money will attempt to recontextualize the larger wars being battled in American politics this summer, namely the interests of the moneyed few versus the mass organizing capabilities of the labored many.
