Five FC soldiers martyred in Balochistan terror attack

QUETTA: Five personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) were martyred on Friday in a terrorist attack in Sangan area of Sibi district in Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists targeted the Frontier Corps patrolling in Sangan, District Sibi.

“During the exchange of fire heavy losses were inflicted on to the terrorists in men and materials,” it said the military’s media wing said in a statement. It added that five brave soldiers of the Frontier Corps embraced martyrdom in the incident.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Havaldar Zafar Ali Khan and Lance Naik Hidayatullah, both residents of Lakki Marwat, Lance Naik Nasir Abbas, a resident of Bhakkar, Lance Naik Basheer Ahmed, a resident of Naseerabad, and Sepoy Noor Ullah, a resident of Lakki Marwat.

The ISPR said a search operation was also in progress to block the escape routes of the terrorists and apprehend the perpetrators.

“Such cowardly acts by inimical elements, backed by Hostile Intelligence Agencies cannot sabotage the hard-earned peace and prosperity in Balochistan,” it said. It added security forces are determined to neutralise their nefarious designs even at the cost of blood and lives.

CM Balochistan condemnation

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan strongly condemned the attack on security forces. In a statement, he also expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in the terrorist attack.

He paid tribute to the great sacrifice of the martyrs of FC personnel, saying sacrifices of security forces would not be wasted. He said that the nation is united for the complete eradication of the scourge of terrorism.

Jam Kamal said that no one would be allowed to disrupt the peace of the province at any cost, adding some anti-state elements want to destabilise peace in the province to halt the development projects in the area.

He said the nefarious designs of terrorists would be eliminated from the province with the efforts of the people and brave security forces. He expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs.
