QUETTA: Five members of a family, including a woman and a child, sustained burn injuries in a gas leakage blast at a home in Khilji Colony near Saraiab area of Quetta on Sunday.
According to police sources, gas leaked into the house overnight and the explosion occurred early Sunday morning one of the victim lit a matchstick to ignite a heater.
As a result, five persons including a child and a woman suffered burn injuries. The injured were identified as Ahmedullah, Hikmatullah, Samiullah and a child Bilal Ahmed.
After receiving information about the incident police and rescue workers reached the spot and shifted the injured to Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Hospital’s burn ward for treatment.
The woman’s identity could not be ascertained so far. The police told that evidence at the site of the incident suggests that blast occurred as the family had fallen asleep at night while leaving a gas heater burning.
However, Police said that they started an investigation into the incident to find the actual cause of the blast.
