First ever Pakistani multi-mission satellite, PAKSAT-MM1, has successfully become operational, marking a significant milestone the country’s space and digital development efforts.
This achievement is expected to transform Pakistan’s communication infrastructure, benefiting various sectors within the IT industry.
The satellite will provide essential services like television broadcasting, community internet access, and tele-education, fostering growth in local industries.
Moreover, PAKSAT-MM1 will enhance internet connectivity in remote areas, advancing the government’s Digital Pakistan vision. Pakistan has also made progress in the United Nations E-Governance Development Index, improving its ranking by 14 spots to reach 136, compared to 150 in 2022.
It should be noted that in May, Pakistan’s Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) launched PAKSAT-MM1 from a launch site in Sichuan Province, China.
