ISLAMABAD: Islamabad’s police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday for stone-pelting at Aurat March, making provocative speeches, blocking roads and misbehaving with the police.
The case has been registered against 12 individuals, including local religious leaders and JUI-F leader Maulana Abdul Majeed Hizravi.
Kohsar police station registered the case on complaint of Islamabad City Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Chandio.
The FIR stated that the leaders incited violence against participants of the Aurat March and also hurt the sentiments of the participants. The suspects were outraged when they were asked to disperse and they manhandled the police officials, it added.
The FIR further stated that the accused blocked the road and pelted stones at the participants of the rally which was being held in connection with International Women’s Day.
