Field Marshall Syed Asim Munir paid a visit to the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at the Headquarters of NDMA, where he was briefed about the disaster preparedness and coordination mechanism for the monsoon season in Pakistan.
The Chairman NDMA briefed COAS & CDF about the operating capacities of NEOC and technology-driven response systems like “Disaster Lens 2026” that indicated the existing situation of the monsoon and multiple hazard mechanisms.
COAS & CDF appreciated the initiatives taken by the NDMA for building the capacity of disaster management in Pakistan.
He highlighted the need for preparedness and coordination between various agencies in order to protect the people and the important national infrastructures.
He assured that the armed forces of Pakistan were always ready to assist the civil administration and NDMA in relief, rescue, and rehabilitation operations.
