ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been barred to investigate the Bus Rapid Transit metro scheme (BRT) in Peshawar as per the Supreme Court’s directive.
During the hearing, the court also sought details of the total cost and completion of the BRT scheme from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The court heard the provincial government’s plea against Peshawar High Court’s decision regarding an investigation into the BRT scheme.
The counsel on the BRT scheme said that the mega-project would be completed by July 31, 2020.
In December last year, the Peshawar High Court ordered FIA to probe into BRT, however, the KP government filed a petition in SC Peshawar Registry challenging the FIA’s probe into BRT.
