Faysal Qureshi urges PM to support Pakistani footballers after FIFA ban

(ONLINE)

Pakistan’s famed actor Faysal Qureshi has requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to support football for Pakistani sports athletes after the country was banned by FIFA.

The actor took to Twitter and wrote he is looking forward to positive intervention on footballer Hajra Khan’s appeal, who first shared the news of Pakistan being banned by FIFA. He in his tweet called for the authorities to resolve the matter and support our national athletes.

Qureshi’s tweet came after the appeal of Hajra Khan, the Pakistan women’s national football team captain, as she was disheartened by the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) recent suspension by FIFA due to third-party interference.

“Today I speak in utmost sadness. PFF was banned by FIFA today for the second time in the last five years,” she said. Khan also made an appeal to President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan. “There is still hope and we do expect a response from you two,” she said.
