KARACHI: Exams and other activities have been postponed in the Sindh capital in view of the cyclone, which is 340 km away from Karachi. It also rained in several areas of Sindh.
According to the details, cyclonic storm Biparjoy remained 340 km away from Karachi. The waves are high on the Karachi coast. The Sindh government said that going to the sea can be dangerous for citizens. Rain with dusty gale-like wind occurred in many areas.
Badin, Keti Bandar, Sajawal, and Tharparkar also received rain. Electricity poles fell due to a storm in Sajawal. In Karachi’s coastal town of Chashma Goth, water reached the roadside. Water entered houses and shops in Ormara recently.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the wind speed around Biporjoy is 150 km per hour and the waves from the sea are up to 30 feet high. According to the PMD, rains are expected till June 16.
In view of the possible arrival of Biporjoy, the intermediate exams scheduled for today and tomorrow in Karachi have been postponed. Educational examinations were also postponed in 9 districts of Sindh under the Hyderabad Board. The board administration says that the new date of the papers will be announced later.
