Nepotism in Bollywood is not old and this debate is not new either. However, Indian music composer Anu Malik believes that star kids suffer more than outsiders in the film industry.
Malik recently shared his perspective on nepotism in the entertainment industry and said in an interview, “See those who talk about nepotism and say things are much easier for star kids, I want to tell them that it is not. I think I finally turned this around and say that it has become easier for someone from outside to make it than star kids.”
According to Malik, his daughter Anmol is an outstanding singer. He maintained that he has helped countless singers but has anyone come forward and expressed his wish to work with his daughter?
He revealed that his daughter, who has worked on songs like ‘Nagin Dance’ and ‘Talli’, continues to go about her work like any other artist in the industry — facing rejections and failure along the way.

“Neither she asked for work from anyone. Many shut doors on her face. She is my daughter and still has to face many hurdles, even more than I faced in the industry.”
He concluded the interview by saying those who talk about nepotism should know that star kids have to work very hard. “Neither, my daughter knew that she will be Anu Malik’s daughter nor I was aware that I will be the son of a musician, Sardar Malik,” he said.
