Encroachments have ruined Karachi: Waseem Akhtar

Poor arrangements for monsoon rains: Waseem Akhtar lashes out at Sindh govt

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar has said that Sindh’s capital has been ruined by the encroachments in the city.
While conducting a media conference in Karachi, Karachi mayor said that an inquiry should be launched against those who permit the illegal constructions in the city.
While claiming the responsibility of the work, Waseem Akhtar said that the federal and Sindh government would collectively act over the revival of the Karachi Circular Railway.
Earlier on Thursday, during the hearing of the KCR case, the supreme court judge Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed held the Sindh government responsible and ordered to recover government lands in Karachi.
CJP Gulzar Ahmed indicated that the Supreme Court might send a contempt of court notice related to the restoration of the city’s circular railway system. Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar who was also present in the hearing.
