The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued notices to PPP leaders and members of the Assembly expressing outrage over the meeting of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Peshawar.

According to details, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed a historic meeting in Peshawar on the occasion of the party’s founding day, before which political activists staged a motorcycle rally and danced to party anthems.

Addressing the Peshawar rally, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari sharply criticized the policies of the ruling political party PTI and also slammed the electronic voting machine in the name of electoral reform.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued notices to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and PPP members of the National and Provincial Assemblies.

PPP National and Provincial Assembly members and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been summoned on December 3 for clarification. The Election Commission has said that PPP violated the code of conduct of local body elections in Peshawar.

It is to be noted that an election campaign cannot be run in any constituency during local body elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan took stern notice of the PPP meeting and sought a reply from the members of the Assembly and the Chairman.
