The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved a petition for a hearing to remove the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from the office of Chairmanship of the party.
A 5-member commission headed by the Chief Election Commissioner will hear the case.
In this regard, the Election Commission issued a notice to the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.
The Election Commission will hold a formal hearing on the petition to remove Chairman PTI from office on October 26.
The Election Commission also issued a notice to the petitioner Khalid Mahmood.
The ECP in November last year had disqualified the PTI chief as a lawmaker for one term in view of an omission on his part to mention the gifts he got from the official gift repository during his term as the prime minister in his statement of assets and liabilities.
