DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates government has implemented stricter regulations for visit visa holders, mandating that travelers must carry 3,000 dirhams in cash, a valid return ticket, and proof of accommodation.
Compliance with these entry requirements is being closely monitored by authorities, with some travelers reporting being denied boarding at airports for failing to meet these criteria, while others have encountered delays at Dubai airports.
According to the head of a travel agency, travelers to Dubai must possess a valid visa with a passport valid for at least six months, along with a confirmed return ticket.
Previously, these were standard checks; however, there is now a heightened focus on ensuring travelers have sufficient funds for their stay, with individuals required to demonstrate proof of funds equivalent to Dh3,000 in cash or credit card.
Moreover, valid accommodation proof, whether in the form of a relative’s or friend’s address or a hotel booking, is necessary.
Although these regulations have been in place for some time, recent efforts by authorities to increase monitoring aim to enhance traveler safety and prevent overstaying incidents.
