BUREWALA: A suspect identified as Afzal Ghora, involved in slit-throats of two individuals over a monetary dispute, shot himself dead after fearing arrest.
According to the police and local journalists, the accused had also sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy who was one of the victims. The incident took place in the 203/EB village in the Gago police precincts.
After receiving information about the incident, the police officials launched an investigation and laid a siege to the suspect’s hideout. The police asked Afzal Ghora to surrender, but he refused and chose to take his own life instead.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umar Farooq Baloch told media that the accused had a criminal record and had previously murdered two other individuals. The police have shifted the body to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for autopsy.
