RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is based on mutual trust, brotherly ties and unwavering commitment.
In a detailed interview with Arab News, he reiterated that Pakistan’s position on the defense and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is clear and unconditional.
He said Pakistan is always prepared to go to any extent to protect Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry also stressed that the Pakistani nation and armed forces remain committed to protecting the sanctity and security of the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah and are ready to make every sacrifice in this regard.
He said the two brotherly countries continue to stand by each other both diplomatically and through practical measures. Pakistan’s political and military leadership also remains in constant contact with the Saudi leadership to closely monitor the evolving regional situation.
The DG ISPR said Pakistan, along with other countries and regional partners, is continuing diplomatic efforts to seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis and promote regional stability.
He further said Pakistan remains firmly committed to all the commitments and assurances made under the Makkah Defence Agreement and would take immediate steps whenever its Saudi brothers need support.
