LAHORE: Non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued for actress Iffat Omar and Ali Gul Pir in a case related to allegations of sexual harassment against singer Ali Zafar.
Judicial Magistrate Yousuf Abdul Rehman rejected the application of actress Iffat Omar for exemption from attendance in the hearing and issued arrest warrants for her while non-bailable arrest warrants were also issued for Ali Gul Pir.

Singer Ali Zafar has filed a defamation suit against Omar and Ali Gul Pir in the wake of allegations of harassment. The Judicial Magistrate, while issuing a written verdict of the last hearing, also summoned Mesha Shafi for the next hearing while the pleas of co-accused Lena Ghani, Faizan Raza, Fareeha Ayub, and Haseem Al Zaman for permanent attendance were rejected. The Federal Investigation Agency has named eight accused in the challan, including singer Mesha Shafi and actress Effat Omar.
According to the challan, Mesha Shafi, Lena Ghani, Effat Umar, Fareeha Ayub, Faizan Raza, Haseem Zaman, Ali Gul Pir, and Mahim Javed launched a coordinated campaign against Ali Zafar on social media but the accused could not present concrete evidence in their defense. Adjourned the case till 6th October.
