ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported two deaths in the last 24 hours by coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,533,888. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,388.
According to the latest figures by the National Institute of Health (NIH), at least 406 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan has conducted 14,437 tests in the past 24 hours and the COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 2.81 percent.

National Institute of Health (NIH) revealed on Saturday that the Covid-19 infection rate in Karachi is on the rise again and is almost touching 20% positivity on average in the last week. 280 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the NIH data.
The federal agency for health said 3,336 tests were conducted in Karachi in the last 24 hours, in which 280 cases came back positive. The province’s positivity ratio stands at 8.4%.
Earlier, in a letter to the Karachi and Hyderabad commissioners, the Sindh health department expressed concerns about the sixth COVID-19 wave.
