Coronavirus claims seven more lives in Pakistan


KARACHI: The coronavirus has reported 566 new cases in Pakistan, bringing the total number of patients to 309,581.

According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 295,033 people infected with the coronavirus have recovered and the number of active cases has dropped to 7,797.

At least seven more people lost their lives due to coronavirus and the total number of deaths due to this epidemic has reached 6,451.

The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 135,488. 98,941 cases have been reported in Punjab, 37,588 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14,932 in Balochistan, 16,367 in Islamabad, 2,630 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 3,635 in Gilgit.

The coronavirus has claimed 2,229 deaths in Punjab and 2,481 in Sindh, while the death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 1,259, Islamabad 181, Balochistan 145, Gilgit-Baltistan 85 and Azad Kashmir 71.

There are facilities for coronavirus patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for corona patients in hospitals is 1,920. There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities.

According to the government, the graph of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is constantly declining but the threat is not over yet. The first case of coronavirus in Pakistan was registered on 26th February.
