KARACHI: Another 21 people have died in Pakistan due to the coronavirus and the total number of deaths has risen to 7,021.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 1,708 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of affected people to 348,184.
In Pakistan, 320,065 people of coronavirus have recovered and 21,098 are undergoing treatment. The number of coronavirus patients in Sindh is 151,352 and in Punjab, it is 1,07,831. 41,069 cases have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22,432 in Islamabad, 16,195 in Balochistan, 4,911 in Azad Kashmir, and 4,394 in Gilgit.
The coronavirus has killed 2,429 people in Punjab and 2,690 in Sindh. The death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,294, Islamabad 247, Balochistan 154, Gilgit-Baltistan 93, and Azad Kashmir 114.
Coronavirus claims three more lives in Sindh
The National Command and Operations Center has made it mandatory to wear a mask to prevent coronavirus in Pakistan. Citizens must wear masks when leaving their homes. Masks will be required for those working in government and private sector offices.
Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, restaurants. According to the NCOC, coronavirus is spreading in 15 cities across the country. Eighty percent of corona cases in Pakistan were reported from eleven major cities.
