KARACHI: The novel COVID-19 has claimed three more lives and infected at least 518 people during the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed infections to 151,352 in Sindh province.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the provincial health authorities reported 518 new cases and three deaths over the previous 24 hours, taking the province’s tally of cases to 151,352 and deaths to 2,690.
The chief minister further informed out of 518 new cases 409 diagnosed in the metropolis. The tally of recovered patients of COVID-19 in Sindh has reached 140,997, the chief minister added.
Currently, 7665 patients were under treatment in the province, of the 266 were in a precarious condition and 32 have been shifted to ventilators, the CM said.
The chief minister urged people of the province to follow the SOPs issued by his government to avoid infection. Another 23 people have died in Pakistan due to the coronavirus and the total number of deaths has reached 7,000.
According to the data released by the National Command and Operations Center, 1,637 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country and the total number of affected people has reached 346,476.
The National Command and Operations Center has made it mandatory to wear a mask to prevent coronavirus in Pakistan. Citizens must wear masks when leaving their homes. Masks will be required for those working in government and private sector offices.
