KARACHI: The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have reached 2,291 after 145 cases have been reported within 24 hours from different areas across the country.
As per details, the number of patients recovered from the disease stands at 82, while, 30 people have died from the deadly virus and 29 remain in critical condition in different hospitals.
Punjab has the highest number of infections that are up to 845 followed by Sindh with 712 patients. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 253 cases, 164 in Balochistan, 184 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), 58 in Islamabad and 9 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The federal government on Wednesday decided to extend the ongoing lockdown for another two weeks until 14th April to contain the spread of novel coronavirus in the country.
More than 37,000 deaths from the virus have been recorded globally so far. Meanwhile, more than 785,000 COVID-19 cases of the virus have been registered in 200 countries.
