KARACHI: Pakistan has reported 43,966 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, while the death toll stands at 939, according to the latest figures released by the national dashboard.
More than 1,841 cases of coronavirus were reported while 36 people died due to the disease in the last 24 hours. As many as 12,489 patients have recovered from the disease, while the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
As per details, 21 percent of the cases have foreign travel history while 79 percent of the cases are reported to be locally transmitted. As per Supreme Court orders, shopping malls and markets will remain open seven days a week from today across the country.
The cases of infection have surged to 17,241 in Sindh, the most affected region in Pakistan. The number of patients swelled to 15,976 in Punjab.
There are 2,820 confirmed cases while 126 patients have recuperated from the infection so far in Balochistan.
The confirmed cases have surged to 6,230 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There are 550 coronavirus cases in Gilgit-Baltistan. As many as 222 people have recovered from the infection.
There are 115 cases in Azad Jammu and Kashmir whereas, in Islamabad, there are 1,034 cases in the capital city while around 36 patients have recovered so far.
