RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday reiterated Pakistan’s desire to resolve the Kashmir issue as per aspirations of the people of the region and United Nations resolutions.
In a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations, Gen Bajwa paid tribute to the people of Kashmir, resolve and valiant struggle. He said the Kashmiris are “braving gravest human rights violations & lockdown in IIOJ&K under Indian occupation forces”.
He added it is time to end this “human tragedy” and resolve the Kashmir issue as per aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and UN resolutions.

Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed to express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir. Early on Saturday, President Dr Arif Alvi led a rally in Islamabad to reaffirm the nation’s support for the oppressed Kashmiris.
The rally was attended by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman Parliament Special Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Afridi, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, ministers, members of parliament, officers of the foreign office, Kashmiri leaders, media and a large number of people.
