KARACHI: The Sindh government has imposed a ban on pillion riding for one day in different cities of the province due to the occasion of Chup Tazia procession.
According to a notification issued by the Sindh government, it has imposed Section 144 (6) of the CrPC.
The ban on pillion riding will come into effect from 12:00 AM Tuesday night to 12:00 AM Wednesday night.

The decision has been taken in the backdrop of security threats related to the event of Chup Tazia on 8th Rabiul Awwal.
The ban will be in place in Karachi division, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushero Feroze, Jamshoro districts.

It is not applicable to women, children below 12 years of age, senior citizens, disabled persons, journalists, personnel of law enforcement agencies in uniform and employees of essential services.
