CDA official allegedly patronizing illegal housing societies in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority’s Regional Planning Director allegedly patronizing illegal housing societies in Zone-IV of Islamabad.
According to sources, Regional Planning Director, Arshad Chauhan allegedly patronized illegal housing societies in Zone-IV, sources added that dealers are selling plots in the market, while the CDA officials refused to take any action against illegal business despite several complaints.
“The sale and purchase of plots by the society management are not in accordance with the CDA and NAB rules. Plots cannot be sold until the NOC is issued to the society management by the CDA”, sources added.
According to CDA’s bylaws, there is no guarantee of other basic facilities of the society including water and electricity.
Sources said that the above scheme has not only started buying and selling plots without obtaining NOC but also many houses have been constructed in society.
Sources also said that the society is busy selling plots at the behest of Arshad Chauhan, adding that the corrupt officer supported the society by exceeding his authority to raise money from the builders.
Sources informed that Malik Tahir and Chaudhry Naveed of Private Limited Company owners while purchasing lands for Islamabad Model Town, got 423 acres lands illegally approved by Arshad Chauhan.
Sources further disclosed that both the individuals own anonymous property and assets in other cities, including Multan by deceiving investigative agencies.
 Senior officials of CDA have directed the authorities to take action against the illegal societies; however, no action has been taken yet.
