ISLAMABAD: Brigadier Mohammad Ahmed on Wednesday assumed the charge of new Military Secretary to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the PM Office said.
The outgoing Military Secretary Brigadier Waseem Iftikhar Cheema paid a farewell call on the Prime Minister this afternoon.
According to the Prime Minister Office statement, Brig Ahmad has been replaced with Brig Naseem Iftikhar Cheema. Brig Cheema prior served as Military Secretary to the prime minister for two-and-a-half years.
He joined as Military Secretary to former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and carried on with the caretaker as well as with PM Imran Khan.
He replaced Brigadier Akmal Aziz who served as Military Secretary to the prime minister for less than four years before being posted to Sialkot to command a brigade.
Earlier, the AK-21 Regiment officer Muhammad Ahmad had a meeting with his predecessor on 14 April for the debriefing.
Meanwhile, outgoing Military Secretary Waseem Iftikhar met the prime minister Imran Khan today in Islamabad. During the meeting, Imran Khan lauded the services of the outgoing military secretary and wished him success for his future engagements.
