Peshawar: A dispute over inappropriate content shared on social media escalated into a deadly confrontation, resulting in a tragic shooting that left three people dead and five others injured.
The incident occurred in Rashid Garhi, within the jurisdiction of Yakatoot Police Station, in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to Peshawar Police, the clash moved from the virtual realm to the streets, culminating in a violent encounter where both parties opened fire on each other.
Following the incident, the bodies were transferred to the hospital for post-mortem examinations, while the injured were provided with medical treatment. The prompt response by the police led to the arrest of four additional suspects involved in the conflict.
Peshawar Police reported that weapons were recovered from the arrested individuals, and an investigation has been launched to uncover further details. This incident highlights the increasing severity of intolerance and the potential for online disputes to spill over into real-world violence.
The police emphasized the need for maintaining decorum and resolving conflicts through dialogue rather than resorting to violence, urging citizens to exercise restraint and report any issues to the authorities instead of taking the law into their own hands.
