ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited his allies to the PM House over an Iftar dinner where he finalized the distribution of federal ministries among his coalition partners.
According to reports, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will get the foreign ministry while Rana Sanaullah’s name has been finalized for the interior ministry.
PML-N’s Marriyum Aurangzeb would likely get information ministry while Ahsan Iqbal, Khwaja Asif, Saad Rafique, Khurram Dastagir and Ayaz Sadiq are also the part of the federal cabinet.
PML-Q dissident leader Tariq Bashir Cheema managed to get the same housing ministry that he had in the former PTI-led government.
PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah has said that a committee of political parties had been set up for seeking opinion for running new Cabinet in a proper manner.
“We have completed 80 percent work on new Cabinet to run the government affairs smoothly,” he said while talking to a private channel. We are in consultation with allied party leaders for announcing the Cabinet members shortly, he said.
Commenting on distribution of portfolio for the members of Cabinet, he said political parties are united with the PML-N leadership. He said all the coalition partners have expressed full support for development of Pakistan.
He made it clear that members of political parties are not interested in any special seat in the cabinet but they have shown great desire for working together.
