BELGIUM: In an attempt to curb coronavirus spread the government of Belgium declared a lockdown for the entire country on 18 March until April 5.
Belgium Prime Minister Sophie Wilmes told in a news conference the fragile situation of the coronavirus has developed and forced the government to take strict steps to stop the spread of the diseases.
Prime Minister emphasized the people to stay at home. People will be permissible to go out in an emergency or to shops, pharmacies and doctors, Wilmes added.
According to instruction, the citizens of the country will only be permitted to leave their homes for food shopping, to go to the doctor, or to go to work if there’s no option to work from home.
Gatherings of people will be prohibited, however physical activity, such as walking or cycling, will be permitted outside, given a distance of 1.5 metres flanked by people is esteemed.
All institutions will have to have employees work distantly as far as possible. Where that is not possible, authorities will have to keep their staff at a space from each other.
The country police will be responsible for severely imposing this incarceration. All non-essential stores will be closed. Supermarkets, pharmacies, Food stores, newsagents and banks will remain open.
Belgium registered 185 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total to 1,243. As many as 10 people have died due to coronavirus. several European countries, including neighboring France, which took the same decision.
