Former minister and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid on Sunday said that “backdoor negotiations” with President Arif Alvi are underway.
In a media talk in Lahore today, he said that PTI chairman Imran Khan “has no interest” in the appointment of the army chief. “He just wants the selection to be made on merit.”
Rashid also met Imran at the former premier’s residence in the city earlier in the day. In a post-event interview with journalists, he stated that Imran had received medical advice not to travel and that the PTI leader’s life was still in danger.
