A woman police officer has been posted as the first Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Hailing from Swabi, Ayesha Gul became the first woman in the provincial police force to achieve this honour of becoming AIG.
The police officer, who is posted in Peshawar, has taken the charge of her new post. She said that as AIG Gender Equality, she would work towards the protection of the rights of women, transgender persons and children.
Earlier in January, Ayesha, who was then serving in the Islamabad Traffic Police, was honored for her performance.

Moreover, Shazia Ishaq is a 25 woman police officer belonging to a remote village of Upper Chitral. She become the first woman police officer in Malakand division after she passed the competitive examination of the Federal Public Service Commission.
Daughter of a retired junior commissioned officer of the Pak Army, Ms Ishaq had earned a BS degree in political science from Islamia College University in 2018.
