RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Turkey’s joint military exercise ‘ATATURK-XI’ commended in Tarbela to help in adapting the emerging trends in military modernisation and cooperation.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the opening ceremony of Pakistan-Turkey joint military exercise ‘ATATURK-XI’ 2021 was held at Special Service Headquarters in Terbela.
The joint exercise will continue for three weeks with the participation of the personnel of the Turkish Special Forces and Special Service Group (SSG).
The exercise includes counter-terrorism, close quarter battle, cordon and search, rappelling, fire and move techniques, helicopter rappelling, compound clearance, hostage and rescue, and free-fall operations.
The joint military exercise is aimed at sharing the mutual experience and information of Pakistani and Turkish troops in counter-terrorism besides strengthening relations between the two nations.
Earlier on Monday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Kharian garrison and commended the innovativeness of military planners to cope up with the mounting challenges and ensure the impregnability of the country’s defence.
The COAS attended the ongoing War Game of the Central Command. He also interacted with officers and appreciated their professionalism, operational readiness and commitment to defend the motherland in the face of conventional and non-conventional threats.
He also praised them for their high morale and indomitable spirit. The army chief was received by Commander Central Command Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood at Kharian Garrison.
