ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he was astonished by the reaction of opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement Movement (PDM) to the government’s call for general elections.
In a Twitter message, he said, “They have been crying hoarse about how our government has failed and lost the support of the people so why the fear of elections now?” He added that the democratic people go to the masses for winning their support.
He added, “Isn’t it better for PDM to accept elections rather than being part of a foreign conspiracy for regime change; and indulging in blatant purchasing of loyalties thereby destroying our nation’s moral fibre?”

PM Imran Khan spoked to PTI leaders after successfully evading the Opposition’s no-confidence motion citing a foreign conspiracy and ordering the president of the country to dissolve the National Assembly. “
The Opposition is a state of shock. It still has been unable to understand what transpired today,” the prime minister said.
PM Imran Khan continued: “Last night, you all were trying not to panic. The Opposition is clueless about the situation right now. If I had disclosed what I was about to do yesterday, they wouldn’t have been shocked.”
He said that during the meeting of the National Security Committee, which was attended by the army chief as well as the chiefs of all other services, the “threatening letter” that the ambassador of Pakistan received was produced. “The meeting reviewed and debated on the letter, and it was concluded that the letter was, indeed, threatening,” he said.
Referring to the turncoats, the premier said that they used to hold meetings with the ambassadors of other countries on a regular basis. “The no-confidence motion was a foreign conspiracy. It was all connected.”
