A flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been delayed for an hour because Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar’s seat was occupied by another passenger.
The incident occurred last night when Asad Umar was traveling to Karachi from Islamabad. When the minister entered the flight PK309 of the PIA plane, his seat was already occupied by another passenger.
While showing displeasure, angry Asad Umar, “[It’s unfair that] I have purchased a ticket for this seat, but someone else is sitting there,” the minister said, as per sources. “This [mismanagement] has been going on for about an hour. I bought the ticket, paid for it.”

Asad had booked seat 12F, and was flying with Federal Minister Amin-ul- Haq, Pakistan People Party’s (PPP) Agha Rafiullah, Qadir Patel, and other assembly members. The flight took off after an hour’s delay.
A video recorded by a passenger shows the minister is arguing with the staff and the passenger. He can be heard saying: “Ye mera ticket hai, ye maine paisay de k lya ha aur ap mujay koi favour nai kar rahary” [I have a ticket and I have paid for it. I am not seeking any favour from you].
